American Airlines has resumed seasonal services between Edinburgh (EDI), Glasgow (GLA) and the U.S. East Coast, now offering an upgraded business-class cabin.
From March 26, the Edinburgh–New York (JFK) route is served by a Boeing 757-200 configured with 16 fully lie-flat business-class seats arranged 2-2. Business-class passengers receive a personal Samsung Galaxy tablet preloaded with movies, TV shows, games, music and book excerpts, and can enjoy premium menus created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Mark Sargeant and U.S. television personality Maneet Chauhan.
“The introduction of the new Business Class cabin is a testament to American’s ongoing $3 billion investment into all aspects of the customer experience and our commitment to the Scottish market,” said Mark Danis, UK corporate sales manager at American Airlines. “From both Edinburgh and Glasgow, customers have access to two iconic American cities and an extensive onward network throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.”
Economy class has been refreshed as well. The aircraft now provides 160 economy seats in total, including 52 Main Cabin Extra seats that offer up to seven inches of additional legroom for added comfort.
Additionally, seasonal services from Glasgow to Philadelphia International Airport will resume on May 6, also operated with a Boeing 757-200.
