American Airlines Launches New Direct Flights to Iceland

American Airlines will launch its first nonstop service to Reykjavik (KEF) next summer, operating flights from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) beginning June 7. Tickets for the route are now open for booking.

“Reykjavik has become a very popular leisure destination and we look forward to giving our customers the opportunity to experience Iceland’s unique landscape of geysers, volcanoes and hot springs with our new direct service next summer,” said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning at American Airlines. The new Reykjavik service is part of the airline’s continued expansion from Dallas-Fort Worth, alongside other additions such as Rome and Amsterdam.

Service will be operated with a Boeing 757-200 configured with 176 seats, including lie-flat seats in business class. The seasonal schedule runs from June 7 through Oct. 27.

Departures from Dallas are scheduled at 8:20 p.m., with an overnight flight arriving in Reykjavik at 9:15 a.m. the following day. Return flights depart Reykjavik at 11:10 a.m. and arrive back in Dallas at 2:50 p.m.

This seasonal nonstop adds a convenient option for travelers from the U.S. to explore Iceland’s natural attractions, providing direct connectivity from a major U.S. gateway while offering premium seating for long-haul comfort.
