Amateur Archaeologists Unearth Genuine Artifacts

Amateur archaeologists can experience authentic fieldwork with Wild Calls, a series of seven-day Earth Science Wilderness Tours through the high desert and stunning canyons of Sweetwater County, Wyoming. These immersive trips are led by geologist and archaeologist Charlie Love, whose credentials include collaborative research with the Smithsonian Institution on studies of Easter Island. The tours combine geology, paleontology, anthropology, history and archaeology, and include visits to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

Ten guided departures are scheduled through October. Each tour begins at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and continues with stops in Green River, the Flaming Gorge Reservoir area and the Sheep Creek geological region. Along the route participants visit museums and other sites of scientific and historic importance.

The all-inclusive price of $2,750 per person covers admission fees, hotel accommodations, educational materials, luxury bus transportation and some meals; airfare is not included.
