Lufthansa is elevating the in-flight dining experience with a new restaurant-style service in its business-class cabin on long-haul flights. Passengers will benefit from a more personalized approach: flight attendants take individual orders, and meals are presented on service plates instead of on traditional trays or trolleys. Plates are served directly from the galley, creating a dining atmosphere closer to that of a restaurant.
After an initial rollout on Airbus A380 routes to New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA), the enhanced meal service has been extended to additional A380 destinations including Houston (IAH), Johannesburg (JNB), Los Angeles (LAX), Delhi (DEL), Beijing (PEK), San Francisco (SFO), Shanghai (PVG), Seoul (ICN), and Singapore (SIN). The program is scheduled to expand further: beginning Oct. 1, the service will be introduced on Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 flights departing from Frankfurt (FRA), and from Oct. 25 it will be implemented across the Airbus A340 fleet on routes from Frankfurt and Munich (MUC) to Asia and the Middle East.
The new service emphasizes attentive, individualized care and an upgraded presentation that aims to enhance comfort and enjoyment for business-class travelers on long-haul routes.
