Clinton National Airport Launches Major Renovation Project

Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Ark., has launched a significant concourse renovation aimed at enhancing the passenger experience at the state’s busiest airport. This yearlong project builds on earlier upgrades and introduces amenities typically not found at airports of comparable size.

Construction work will be scheduled primarily at night and during off-peak hours to limit disruption to travelers. All major work will pause for the holiday season and resume in January. To accommodate the renovation, individual airlines will temporarily relocate affected gates as needed, with relocations coordinated by each carrier.

“We conduct regular research to gather passenger feedback that guides our investments and improvements,” said Ronald Mathieu, airport executive director. “This renovation is designed around the traveler and includes features intended to make their journey more comfortable and convenient.”

Planned upgrades to the concourse include a refreshed, modern interior; upgraded gate seating with integrated in-seat power outlets for charging portable devices; enhanced connectivity with faster WiFi and better cellular service; heated and cooled jet bridges to improve comfort; new arrival and departure monitors and visual paging systems for clearer wayfinding; and additional restrooms on the concourse to reduce wait times. These improvements follow recent projects that updated the ticketing lobby, security checkpoint and baggage claim areas, installed a new in-line baggage screening system, and added parking guidance technology.

The renovation is being financed through passenger facility charges and airport retained earnings, ensuring the project is supported by airport revenue sources without relying on external funding.
