Robotic Services in Singapore: Automation Solutions for Businesses

Jeno and Jena are the newest additions to the staff at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway and Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, but neither expects a tip when they deliver your room service. Designed and built by Savioke, these autonomous Relay robots handle deliveries and amenity requests—such as extra towels or toiletries—with a target response time of 15 minutes.

Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts

Moving at roughly 1.5 miles per hour, each robot is capable of riding elevators and placing brief phone calls. About three feet tall, they navigate around furniture and obstacles using onboard sensors. The robots are also given a touch of personality through their attire: Jena wears a scarf and Jeno wears a jacket, both designed by Toby Tan of the Band of Doodlers.

The delivery process is straightforward and secure. When staff receive an order, the item is placed inside the robot’s locked compartment and secured with a PIN. The destination room number is entered, and the robot is routed to the appropriate elevator and floor. Upon arrival at the guest’s door, the robot places a call to announce the delivery and releases the compartment when the guest opens the door. If the guest does not retrieve the item immediately, the robot waits five minutes before returning to its lobby docking station.

Guests complete the interaction by pressing an All Set button on the robot’s interface and can rate the service from one to five stars. If a guest selects five stars, the robot responds with a celebratory animation and displays the word “Yay!” on its screen. Any further interaction, such as dancing alongside the robot, is entirely up to the guest.

By combining practical functionality with a friendly appearance, Jeno and Jena aim to streamline routine hotel services while offering a memorable, tech-forward experience for guests at both Hotel Jen properties.
