Hainan Airlines Launches New Direct Service Between New York and Beijing

Hainan Airlines has launched nonstop service between New York (JFK) and Chengdu (CTU), starting Oct. 26. This new route is the carrier’s second direct connection to Chengdu from the United States, joining its recently introduced Los Angeles (LAX) service.

The route is operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Business class offers fully flat 180-degree seats with in-seat massage functions, while passengers in all cabins can choose from a mix of Western and Asian meal options. Business-class customers also have access to an optional private limousine transfer prior to departure.

With this addition, Hainan Airlines expands its U.S.–China network and becomes the Chinese carrier with the highest number of routes linking the two countries.

Seasonal schedules vary. During the summer and fall seasons, flights from Chengdu depart on Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:00 p.m., arriving in New York at 12:30 a.m. the next day. Return services from New York operate on Fridays and Sundays, departing at 2:50 a.m. and arriving in Chengdu at 5:55 a.m. the following morning.

In the winter and spring seasons, the service operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Travelers should confirm current days and times with the airline when booking, as schedules may change.
