Carnival Cruise Line to Launch New Ship in 2018: What to Expect

Just in time for spring break 2018, Carnival Cruise Line will introduce a new ship named Horizon. Designed to carry nearly 4,000 passengers, the vessel will operate itineraries across the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.

The ship’s standout amenities include an IMAX theater, a Dr. Seuss–inspired WaterWorks waterpark and the 150-foot SkyRide previously featured on Carnival’s Vista class. These attractions combine family-friendly fun with larger-than-life experiences that appeal to a wide range of travelers.

Dining options aboard Horizon span casual to upscale. For quick, flavorful fare, guests can stop by Guy’s Burger Joint from celebrity chef Guy Fieri, while those seeking a premium steakhouse experience can reserve a table at Fahrenheit 555. Asian-inspired choices include Bonsai Sushi and JiJi Asian Kitchen. For a more immersive culinary experience, the Chef’s Table—available for an additional fee—offers a reservations-only, behind-the-scenes meal hosted by the ship’s chef.

Carnival’s Horizon will begin sailings in spring 2018, departing from Barcelona, New York and Miami on Mediterranean, trans-Atlantic and Caribbean routes, giving travelers a range of itinerary lengths and destinations to choose from.
