Aeroméxico Clase Premier: Luxury Business Class Experience

On the Ground: I recommend leaving your hotel with ample time for the return trip to Benito Juárez International Airport; traffic in large cities can be unpredictable. Aeromexico has numerous ticketing counters with helpful staff, and we completed check-in in about five minutes. Security lines at MEX were short during our visit, which left us enough time to locate Aeromexico’s temporary Premier Salon lounge. The original VIP lounge was undergoing final renovations at the time (it reopened April 6 with added spa services and a children’s area). Although the temporary lounge was busy, it provided the essentials: a large circular bar, snacks and reliable WiFi.

Pre-Flight: Our early evening flight on a new Boeing 737-800 was full, yet boarding included immediate beverage service—Champagne or water—and reading materials. Departure was smooth and on schedule.

In-Flight: Once at cruising altitude, I settled into a lightly reclining seat that was comfortable for the roughly five-hour trip. Clase Premier uses a 2-2 seating layout with relatively wide seats, universal power outlets and an entertainment system compatible with current screens, offering recent movie releases, music and games.

Meal choices were varied; I opted for a simple pasta in a light cream sauce with vegetables, paired with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a top-shelf whiskey as a nightcap.

After the meal service, I watched a new film and used the onboard WiFi to handle a few emails before resting for the remainder of the flight. The cabin crew remained attentive, keeping water and drink refills available throughout the journey.
