Museums
MUNCH Museum
Designed by Estudio Herreros and opened in October 2021, the MUNCH Museum continues to attract visitors with its striking architecture and extensive collection of modern and contemporary art. The museum holds a substantial selection of works by Edvard Munch and in 2022 featured exhibitions exploring the unconscious through artists such as Salvador Dalí, Auguste Rodin and Pablo Picasso, alongside cross-disciplinary projects that combine music and visual art, including the Satyricon & Munch exhibition.
The National Museum
Scheduled to open in 2022 in Oslo, the National Museum will be the largest art museum in Scandinavia, presenting more than 5,000 works at launch. Housed in an eco-conscious building designed to cut carbon emissions by half compared with standard practices, the museum brings together art, architecture and design to offer visitors a cohesive journey through Norway’s artistic and cultural history.
