United Launches Nonstop Flights to Tahiti: What Travelers Need to Know

United Airlines now provides the only nonstop service from a mainland U.S. carrier to Tahiti, with flights originating in San Francisco (SFO).

“We are thrilled to extend this exciting flight to a year-round schedule,” said Janet Lamkin, president, California, United Airlines. “For Californians and our customers connecting through San Francisco, this route offers an escape to a little corner of paradise.”

Currently, the service operates three times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Beginning March 30, 2019, the schedule adjusts to flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Departures from the West Coast are at 2:45 p.m., arriving in Tahiti at 9:25 p.m. Return service leaves Tahiti at 11:45 p.m., arriving back in the continental United States at 9:50 a.m. the following day.

The route is operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering passengers the range and comfort suited for the long-haul journey.
