Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ design-driven Aloft brand opens a new location in Miami’s iconic South Beach neighborhood this month. Situated just one block from the sand and only minutes from the Miami Beach Convention Center, the hotel is close to numerous galleries, the Bass Museum of Art, and a wide selection of nightlife, restaurants and boutiques.
The newly renamed Aloft South Beach is the result of a sensitive renovation of the 1960s-era Motel Ankara and includes a newly constructed eight-story tower. The adaptive reuse project offers 235 roomy, loft-style guestrooms, an outdoor pool, a roof-deck lounge, a 24-hour fitness center and over 2,300 square feet of flexible meeting and event space designed to accommodate both business and social gatherings.
With an urban design aesthetic and a focus on technology and live music, Aloft South Beach aims to be a local hotspot. “Aloft South Beach is an exciting, new addition to the brand’s rapidly growing global portfolio, and we expect it will quickly emerge as a local hotspot with its urban design aesthetic, tech-forward mind-set and live music performances,” said Brian McGuinness, global brand leader, specialty select brands, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The brand continues to expand rapidly and is approaching its 100th hotel milestone later this summer.
This opening represents Aloft’s eighth hotel in Florida and reinforces the brand’s presence in key U.S. leisure markets, offering travelers a contemporary, music-oriented alternative with modern amenities and flexible event spaces.
