United Airlines Opens New Premium Lounges at Heathrow Airport

United has opened new premium-class lounges in London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2, which officially opens on June 4. The United Global First and United Club lounges together occupy about 22,000 square feet and are designed to offer a comfortable, upscale pre-flight experience.

The lounges feature floor-to-ceiling windows with clear views of the airfield, a collection of vintage aviation–themed artwork, complimentary WiFi, and a wide selection of food and beverage options. These spaces are intended to serve passengers traveling to and from Heathrow on United and its Star Alliance partners.

United currently serves Heathrow with 17 daily flights from six U.S. hubs: Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington Dulles (IAD). The United Global First Lounge is available to first-class passengers flying on any Star Alliance carrier. The United Club Lounge provides access to business-class passengers traveling with Star Alliance airlines.

The new lounges are part of Terminal 2’s broader effort to modernize facilities and enhance passenger comfort. With extensive seating options, natural light, and thoughtfully curated décor, the lounges aim to create a relaxing atmosphere for business and leisure travelers alike. Guests can expect streamlined service, a variety of dining choices, and reliable connectivity for work or leisure before boarding.

Both lounges are positioned to accommodate the volume of transatlantic traffic between the U.S. and London, offering a convenient place to work, rest, or dine during layovers and before departures. By opening these spaces at Terminal 2, United extends its premium service footprint at one of Europe’s busiest airports, aligning lounge amenities with the carrier’s long-haul schedule and alliance partnerships.
