Norwegian Air Launches New U.S.–London Route: Flight Details & Dates

Norwegian Air has announced an expansion of its international network with three new long-haul routes. As the airline takes delivery of additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners, it will introduce services from London Gatwick (LGW) to three U.S. destinations for the summer 2014 season: New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

Service to New York will operate three times weekly beginning July 3, 2014, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The Los Angeles route will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, while flights to Fort Lauderdale will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. These new routes are part of Norwegian’s broader strategy to grow internationally and strengthen its presence outside Scandinavia.

“We are looking forward to welcoming many new customers on board our brand-new aircraft. Launching long-haul routes between London Gatwick and the United States is an important part of our strategy to expand internationally and gain a stronger foothold in markets outside Scandinavia,” said Bjørn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian Air.

With this expansion, the airline continues to increase its global footprint. At the time of the announcement, Norwegian offered an extensive schedule spanning hundreds of routes and more than a hundred destinations.
