Park Hyatt Opens in Kuala Lumpur: Luxury Hotel Debuts in KL

Hyatt Hotels has made a striking entry into Kuala Lumpur’s luxury hotel scene with the opening of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. The hotel occupies floors 75 through 114 of Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in the Asia Pacific region, and offers 252 guestrooms and suites. Thoughtfully designed suite amenities include private study areas, dressing rooms, separate rain showers and aromatherapy shower steamers, providing a calm retreat amid the city’s energy.

The interior design draws on the enduring character of a traditional Malay Kampung house. G.A Group led the interiors, while Artlink curated a selection of Malaysian artwork. Natural timber finishes, perforated brass screens engraved with batik canting motifs, and textures inspired by traditional basket weaving and Peranakan textiles create a layered sense of place. These elements are complemented by locally themed guest experiences that showcase Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

“Merdeka 118 will be a catalyst to uplift communities and enhance Kuala Lumpur’s long-term vibrancy as part of Warisan KL, an initiative to celebrate heritage and revitalize the city. It plays an important role in supporting Kuala Lumpur’s cultural regeneration and heritage tourism,” said YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Group Chairman, PNB. “We are excited to welcome the Park Hyatt brand to Malaysia as part of this landmark project, which will unlock potential and build pride.”

The hotel also provides generous meeting and event spaces as well as an extensive wellness floor on the 99th level. Facilities include a yoga and movement studio, a fitness center, private treatment suites and a relaxation lounge featuring an aromatherapy steam bath and a Himalayan salt alcove. Outdoor amenities include an infinity pool with sweeping city views and a vitality pool.
