Airport Sherpa Debuts at BWI: New Travel Concierge Service

Airport Sherpa, the first app to provide in-airport food and retail delivery, launched at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) and will expand to other major airports nationwide.

The free app is available in the Apple App Store for travelers passing through BWI. It lets passengers order food and retail items from anywhere inside the airport—even across terminals—and have purchases delivered directly to their gate. Because the app links to a user’s itinerary, it detects flight delays, gate changes and altered connections, and adapts delivery timing to help ensure on-time arrival.

“We created Airport Sherpa to enhance the travel experience for passengers by providing an on-demand delivery service; something users have grown accustomed to for services outside of the airport,” said Patrick DellaValle, co-founder of Airport Sherpa. “This app gives travelers access to hundreds of stores across terminals right at their fingertips.”

Airport Sherpa offers personalized recommendations based on user preferences and previous orders, helping passengers discover new food and retail options throughout the airport. Users can place orders up to a week in advance for convenient, stress-free delivery or choose same-day pick-up. The app also provides gate-to-store directions with calculated walking distances to help users plan their time efficiently.

Following the BWI rollout, Airport Sherpa will expand its service to additional leading airports across the country, making on-demand in-terminal delivery available to more travelers.
