The Tower Bridge neighborhood in London is now home to The LaLiT London, a new addition to Small Luxury Hotels of the World and the first London property from The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group of New Delhi. Housed in the former St. Olave’s Grammar School, this Grade II-listed building underwent a five-year renovation to create 70 stylish guestrooms that blend authentic Victorian architecture with classic Indian design elements.
The redesign preserves and reinterprets many original features. Public spaces include the paneled Great Hall, the Teachers’ Room—now a comfortable bar and gathering area—and the Headmaster’s Room with its soaring ceilings. These transformed rooms provide grand yet welcoming settings for dining, drinks and events.
Dining at The LaLiT London centers around the Pan-Indian Baluchi restaurant located in the Great Hall. The hotel also offers a Naanery where artisanal breads are baked fresh in a tandoor and paired with curated wines on an outdoor shisha terrace. For traditional afternoon indulgence, there are two bespoke afternoon tea menus as well as a High Chai Afternoon Tea that reflects the hotel’s Indian heritage.
Rejuve – The Spa brings authentic Ayurvedic therapies to the property, using traditional Ayurvedic treatment tables and a selection of signature rituals. Treatments range from the Frangipani Wrap and Bengal Tuberose Scrub to a Himalayan Salt Ritual, offering guests a range of restorative and sensory experiences.
Guestrooms are individually decorated and vary widely in scale and character. Some rooms feature dramatic 30-foot ceilings, while room categories include Cosy Classrooms and the luxurious LaLiT Legacy Suite. Thoughtful amenities enhance the stay: localized cellphones for guest use, Nespresso machines in rooms and Kronocare-branded bath products.
