British Airways Adds New Summer Routes for 2025 Holiday Season

Travelers based in the United Kingdom now have easier access to a number of lesser-known Mediterranean destinations just in time for the summer holiday season. With peak travel in Europe concentrated around August, the timing gives holidaymakers more options for sun, sea and culture without the usual crowds.

British Airways has launched several new routes from London Heathrow to a mix of regional and coastal airports. On May 3 the carrier began twice-weekly services to Montpellier, France (MPL), opening convenient access to the Languedoc coast, historic towns and wine country. In June the airline added two more summer options: Brindisi, Italy (BDS), on the Adriatic coast, and the Greek island of Zante (ZTH), both served twice weekly to connect UK travelers with beaches and local heritage.

Starting July 1, British Airways will also operate twice-weekly flights from London Heathrow to Pula (PUY) in northwestern Croatia, giving holidaymakers a gateway to Istria’s Roman ruins, coastal scenery and seafood-focused cuisine.

Other less-visited destinations now included in British Airways’ network are Tallinn, Estonia (TLL), and Murcia (RMU) in southeastern Spain, each served twice weekly. These routes provide alternatives to the more crowded Mediterranean hotspots and allow travelers to explore cities and regions that combine culture, history and relaxed coastal life. Outside Europe, the airline has expanded long-haul offerings as well, having added services to New Orleans (MSY) and Santiago, Chile (SCL) earlier this year.

The move comes as low-cost carriers continue to grow their networks and push into new markets. British Airways is responding by broadening its own route map to remain competitive and retain customers who value convenience, frequency and direct connections from a major hub like Heathrow. For travelers, the result is a wider range of direct flight options to interesting, often overlooked destinations across the Mediterranean and beyond.
