United Launches Luxury Airport Lounge at San Francisco International Airport

United business-class travelers flying through San Francisco International Airport can now relax in the airline’s new Polaris lounge.

Opened on April 30, the two-story lounge offers the amenities and comforts expected by Polaris passengers. Private work cubicles feature comfortable seating, desks and both electrical and USB outlets, making it easy for business travelers to stay productive before their flight.

One wall of the lounge is lined with bookshelves, creating a quiet, library-like area that includes the private cubicles and several open seating areas with floor-to-ceiling windows. Slate-colored walls display artwork by Bay Area artists, loaned to the lounge by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Guests who need rest can use one of five daybeds, each located in a dedicated private space and furnished with bedding from Saks Fifth Avenue and a white-noise machine to ensure a peaceful nap.

When it’s time to eat, travelers have several options: a ramen noodle bar for a hot, quick meal; a full dessert bar for a treat; and a buffet offering bistro-style dishes to suit different tastes and schedules.
