Tropicana Gets $25 Million Renovation Boost: What’s Changing

Tropicana Atlantic City has announced an additional $25 million in renovations that will be completed over the coming months. Construction began in January and is expected to finish as early as May. These new improvements build on a recent $50 million upgrade that refreshed guest rooms, added a modern fitness center, created new retail spaces, and enhanced the property’s exterior façade.

The latest phase focuses primarily on guestrooms in the Havana Tower, introducing a contemporary design with new flooring, wall coverings, décor, and renovated bathrooms. Guests can also expect updates to the South Tower casino layout and ambiance, along with new light and sound shows along the boardwalk that will enhance the overall entertainment experience. In addition, a new entrance—originally planned during the earlier upgrade phase—will open as part of this project.

Tony Rodio, president and CEO of Tropicana Entertainment, said the company remains committed to investing in both gaming and non-gaming amenities. “We are committed to delivering on our promise to offer more to our guests and more to the city of Atlantic City,” Rodio stated. He emphasized that the renovations not only improve the guest experience but also create employment opportunities at a critical time for the city.

These improvements are designed to modernize the resort while preserving the vibrant atmosphere that draws visitors to Atlantic City. By upgrading guest rooms, casino spaces, and public entertainment elements, Tropicana aims to offer a refreshed stay for visitors and a stronger economic contribution to the local community.

The combined waves of investment—first the $50 million project and now an additional $25 million—underline Tropicana’s ongoing strategy to keep the property competitive and appealing. Travelers can expect contemporary aesthetics, improved comfort, and enhanced entertainment options when the renovations are complete.

As construction wraps up, visitors should look for the newly updated Havana Tower guest rooms, refreshed South Tower casino areas, the new boardwalk light and sound presentations, and the newly opened entrance that will welcome guests once the work is finalized.
