Finnair will broaden its network next summer with 12 new scheduled routes and increased frequencies to a range of international destinations.
Billund (BLL) in Jutland, Denmark, will be one of the carrier’s new destinations, with year-round service from Helsinki (HEL) starting April 4. The airline will also launch flights to Edinburgh (EDI), operating between April 18 and October 27 to connect Helsinki with Scotland’s capital.
For the first time, Finnair will introduce scheduled international service to Svalbard (LYR), the Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. From June 1 to August 27, the airline will operate three weekly flights from Helsinki to Svalbard’s airport, known as the northernmost airport in the world. Svalbard lies between mainland Norway and the North Pole and is celebrated for its pristine Arctic landscapes.
In addition to new routes, Finnair will increase capacity to several popular summer destinations, adding more flights to Malta (MLA), Tel Aviv (TLV), Zagreb (ZAG) in Croatia and Nice (NCE) on the French Riviera to better serve seasonal demand.
