Turkish Airlines and Boeing recently marked a significant milestone with the delivery of Turkish Airlines’ 125th aircraft purchased from Boeing. The newly delivered Next-Generation 737-900ER is one of twelve aircraft scheduled for delivery to the carrier this year.
“Boeing has played a pivotal role in the development of Turkish Airlines and these deliveries continue to enable this airline to compete, expand and reach new short and long-range destinations nonstop from our hubs in Istanbul,” said Dr. Ahmet Bolat, chief investment and technology officer at Turkish Airlines. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing a superior travel experience on every route, noting that both the 777 and 737 families deliver comfort and convenience in spacious cabins while maintaining exceptional reliability.
The Next-Generation 737-900ER is a short- to medium-range twinjet that enhances the capabilities of the 737 family. Known for its strong operational performance, this model is designed to be fuel- and cost-efficient within its class and has a track record of punctuality, with on-time departures reported at approximately 99.5 percent.
With this delivery, Turkish Airlines continues to modernize and expand its fleet, supporting network growth from its Istanbul hubs. The addition of more 737-900ERs will help the airline operate a wider range of routes with improved efficiency and passenger comfort, while Boeing’s long-term partnership supports Turkish Airlines’ strategic objectives for both domestic and international services.
As airlines seek better economics and consistent reliability, the Next-Generation 737-900ER remains a core choice for carriers balancing capacity, range and operating costs. For passengers, the aircraft’s cabin layout and amenities aim to deliver a comfortable onboard experience across short and medium sectors, aligning with Turkish Airlines’ focus on service quality.
