American Airlines Launches New Summer Flights to Europe

American Airlines is expanding its summer schedule to give customers greater access to Europe with new seasonal routes starting May 4, 2018.

New services include nonstop flights from Philadelphia (PHL) to Budapest (BUD) and Prague (PRG), as well as a nonstop route from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to Venice (VCE).

“Summer travel to Europe is very popular,” said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning at American Airlines. “These flights will conveniently connect customers from two very important hubs — Chicago and Philadelphia — to exciting markets across the Atlantic.”

Budapest and Prague are new additions to American’s network. The carrier already flies to Venice from Philadelphia and recently introduced summer service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Amsterdam (AMS) and Rome (FCO), along with a seasonal route from Chicago to Barcelona (BCN). Together with its joint business partners, American serves 23 nonstop destinations in Europe from the United States with more than 130 daily departures.

The 2018 summer schedule runs from May 4 through October 27, 2018. Boeing 767-300 aircraft will operate the Philadelphia–Budapest and Philadelphia–Prague services, while a Boeing 787-8 will operate the Chicago–Venice route.
