YOTEL, the technology-focused hospitality brand, has announced a brand-wide partnership with Serta, a leading hospitality mattress manufacturer, to create a custom mattress that will become YOTEL’s signature sleep standard. This mattress will be a key component of YOTEL’s SmartBeds and will be integrated into their cabins (YOTEL’s term for space-efficient guestrooms) across the company’s properties as the next-generation cabin design is rolled out worldwide.
“The heart of YOTEL’s mission is to provide an elevated level of comfort for business and leisure travelers,” said Hubert Viriot, CEO of YOTEL. “Because sleep quality and comfort are top priorities for our guests, we collaborated with Serta to design a distinctive solution that aligns with the YOTEL brand and delivers an outstanding guest experience.”
Adjustable beds are increasingly recognized as an important element of good sleep hygiene, offering variable positions suited to reading, working, or watching entertainment. The new Serta mattress, created exclusively for YOTEL, is engineered to work seamlessly with the property’s automated gliding bed mechanism—the hallmark of YOTEL’s cabins.
The SmartBed transforms at the touch of a button, shifting from a fully flat bed to a sofa-style seating arrangement to maximize usable space for relaxing or working. This convertible function preserves room flexibility while maintaining sleep comfort comparable to a conventional hotel bed.
The mattress underwent extensive testing and has already been installed in select cabins at YOTEL’s flagship hotel in New York City. Guest responses to the new sleep system have been strongly positive, noting both comfort and convenience. By combining Serta’s mattress expertise with YOTEL’s space-saving, tech-driven design, the partnership aims to set a new standard for sleep quality in compact, modern hotel rooms.
Beyond comfort, the collaboration reflects YOTEL’s broader strategy of integrating smart, adaptive solutions that enhance guest experience without sacrificing efficiency. The custom mattress supports that strategy by fitting the mechanical requirements of the SmartBed and delivering consistent sleep performance across a variety of cabin configurations.
As YOTEL installs the new mattresses more broadly, the company expects the enhanced SmartBed system to appeal to travelers who value both functionality and a high-quality night’s rest. The partnership with Serta underscores YOTEL’s commitment to innovation in hospitality design, combining technology, space optimization, and tailored comfort to meet evolving guest expectations.
