Qatar Airways Launches New Helsinki Route: Flights to Finland From Doha

Qatar Airways has launched a daily service between Doha (DOH) and Helsinki (HEL), expanding its presence in the Nordic region. This new route complements the carrier’s existing connections to Stockholm (ARN), Oslo (OSL) and Copenhagen (CPH).

Operations are scheduled with an Airbus A320, although the inaugural flight was operated with an A350. The A320 configuration offers 12 business-class seats and 120 economy seats. Flight times are organized to provide convenient daytime and overnight options on different days of the week.

The route is supported by a codeshare agreement between Finnair and Qatar Airways that extends connectivity across the region. Qatar Airways will place its code on a number of Finnair-operated services from Helsinki to regional destinations in the Baltics and Scandinavia, including Tallinn (TLL) and Tartu (TAY) in Estonia; Riga (RIX) in Latvia; Vilnius (VNO) in Lithuania; Billund (BLL) in Denmark; and Stockholm-Bromma (BMA) in Sweden.

Conversely, Finnair will place its code on several Qatar Airways long-haul and regional services from Helsinki, increasing options for passengers traveling beyond the Nordics. These include flights to Doha and Manama (BAH) in Bahrain; Muscat (MCT) in Oman; Johannesburg (JNB), Cape Town (CPT) and Durban (DUR) in South Africa; Malé (MLE) in the Maldives; Mahé (SEZ) in the Seychelles (code-share effective December 12 when operations commence); and Colombo (CMB) in Sri Lanka.

This partnership enhances transfer possibilities for travellers connecting through Helsinki, enabling smoother itineraries between Northern Europe and destinations across the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean. The new Doha–Helsinki service supports both business and leisure travel by offering a mix of daytime and overnight departures, and by integrating into the partners’ broader networks to provide more seamless onward connections.
