We’re not saying robots will take over the world tomorrow, but for now the spa robots at John F. Kennedy International Airport simply want to make your hands look great before your flight. The robotic Clockwork MiNiCURE at the XpresSpa in Terminal 4 delivers an express manicure in under 10 minutes, leaving plenty of time to grab a chai latte or macchiato before you head to your gate.

Clockwork introduced these beauty-industry robotic services in partnership with XWELL, Inc. The arrival of AI-powered manicure services at JFK is the world’s first airport implementation, offering a wide range of color choices and a live support feature if human assistance is needed. The fully autonomous robot uses 3-D technology and proprietary artificial intelligence to apply nail color with precision.
In addition to precise color application, the service includes automated nail polish removal and a complimentary small bottle of remover to take with you.

“We are pleased to be the first in the world to introduce this type of technology in the airport setting,” said Scott Milford, CEO of XWELL. “Together with Clockwork, we are unveiling a state-of-the-art, efficient option for travelers to enjoy a manicure. This is one way XWELL is enhancing its spa services to meet clients’ needs while they’re on the move, demonstrating ongoing innovation in wellness. We will continue to leverage technologies like this to deliver speed, quality and a moment of escape for our customers at an affordable cost.”
