Since Norwegian Air entered the race for the lowest international fares, travelers have been surprised by the European carrier’s exceptionally low prices. The budget airline has built a reputation for offering solid service at affordable rates and has steadily expanded its U.S. network.
Most recently, Denver and Seattle have been added to Norwegian’s lineup of low-cost routes to Europe. The airline announced one-way fares from London Gatwick to Denver International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport starting at $199. That fare includes applicable taxes but, as with many low-cost carriers, does not cover checked baggage, seat selection, in-flight entertainment, or onboard meals.
Tickets are on sale now for flights beginning in September. Initially, Norwegian will operate two weekly flights between Denver and London, increasing to three weekly flights in November. Service between Seattle and London will run four times per week.
These new routes give U.S. travelers more budget-friendly options for transatlantic travel while offering competitive schedules from the West Coast and the Mountain West. Passengers should review the airline’s optional fees and policies before booking to determine the total trip cost and decide whether to add baggage or other services.
As with any introductory fares, availability may be limited and prices can change as demand increases. Travelers planning to fly during peak seasons or holiday periods should compare ticket options and consider booking early to secure the lowest published fares.
Norwegian’s expansion reflects broader trends in low-cost long-haul travel, where airlines focus on no-frills pricing and optional add-ons to keep base fares low. For budget-minded passengers willing to travel with carry-on-only luggage and purchase extras a la carte, these routes offer a straightforward way to fly between the U.S. and Europe at competitive prices.
