JetBlue Airways and its charter partner, Cuba Travel Services, announced a new weekly flight connecting New York and Havana. This marks JetBlue as the first major airline to introduce a New York–Havana service since U.S. travel restrictions were relaxed.
The launch follows New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s recent trade mission to Cuba, which included JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes and other New York business leaders. The mission aimed to open channels between New York businesses and emerging opportunities in Cuba.
Governor Cuomo said the trade mission helped place New York companies at the forefront of new opportunities in Cuba, with potential benefits for jobs and economic activity in the state.
Cuba Travel Services will operate the Friday service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to José Martí International Airport in Havana (HAV), with the first flight scheduled for July 3. Travelers should book directly through Cuba Travel Services.
Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s president and CEO, welcomed the collaboration with the governor’s mission and highlighted JetBlue’s role in restoring service to Cuba. He noted that partnering with an experienced charter operator like Cuba Travel Services allows JetBlue to extend its customer-focused service to travelers flying between New York and Havana, serving a region with a significant Cuban community.
With the addition of the JFK–HAV route, JetBlue’s Cuba network will include five weekly roundtrips, adding to the carrier’s existing flights to Havana from Tampa (TPA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) operated in partnership with various charter providers.
This new schedule expands direct travel options between New York and Cuba and reflects growing interest in renewed commercial and cultural ties between the two locations. Travelers should verify schedules and ticketing details with Cuba Travel Services before booking, as charter services may have specific requirements and booking channels.
