With Icelandair resuming flights to Narsarsuaq in southern Greenland on April 1, the country is inviting travelers to discover its most dramatic landscapes. Two leading expedition providers—EYOS, a specialist in private superyacht expedition charters, and PONANT, an expert in polar cruises—are offering several voyages around Greenland this season.

PONANT is offering two Greenland itineraries aboard Le Commandant Charcot, each guided by a team of naturalists and expedition leaders. Activities may include snowshoeing, polar diving, ice fishing and dogsledding, providing immersive opportunities to experience Arctic environments and wildlife.
The first itinerary, “Genesis of the French Polar Expeditions,” is an 11-day voyage from Reykjavik that follows Greenland’s east coast. The route visits the Ammassalik region and the coast of Blosseville, known for its jagged peaks first charted by Commander Blosseville in 1833. This voyage, which touches on history and dramatic scenery, is scheduled for April 30–May 10.

PONANT’s second option, “Discovering the Northeast Greenland National Park,” departs on two dates: May 10–22 and May 22–June 3. This expedition explores one of Greenland’s most remote and hardest-to-reach regions, including a visit to the Ittoqqortoormiit area. Passengers will have the chance to explore Northeast Greenland National Park—the world’s largest national park—and encounter iconic Arctic wildlife such as polar bears, narwhals and musk oxen.
For travelers preferring a private yacht experience, EYOS offers voyages on the 12-passenger MV Nansen Explorer, which provides individual cabins. The vessel was originally built as an Arctic research ship and now serves as a comfortable platform for small-group explorations of Greenland’s coastlines.

One EYOS option is a heli-skiing-focused, seven-day itinerary beginning in Kangerlussuaq and running April 24–May 1. The trip travels to Maniitsoq island for heli-skiing over deep powder and tight fjord slopes that descend to the water’s edge—an experience suited to adventurous skiers seeking remote terrain.
EYOS’s second Greenland departure, “Greenland’s Northern Coast,” takes place June 19–26 and ventures beyond the Arctic Circle. This itinerary reaches Disko Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage area famous for its massive icebergs and dramatic coastal scenery, offering opportunities to see glaciers and Arctic marine life up close.
Whether traveling on a polar-class cruise ship or a converted research vessel, these carefully designed expeditions provide access to remote landscapes, cultural encounters and wildlife viewing across Greenland’s vast and varied coastlines.
