AccorHotels Group announced on July 12 that it has completed the acquisition of Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel. The deal significantly expands AccorHotels’ presence in the luxury hotel segment and strengthens its position across North America.
According to Sébastian Bazin, chairman and CEO of AccorHotels, “The acquisition of these three emblematic luxury hotel brands is a historical milestone for AccorHotels. It will open up amazing growth prospects, lift our international presence to unprecedented heights and build value over the long term.” He added that the group remains focused on delivering exceptional guest service while pursuing strong returns for shareholders and hotel owners.
The portfolio acquired includes many iconic properties, such as The Savoy in London, Fairmont San Francisco, Raffles Singapore and The Plaza in New York, among others. In total, AccorHotels adds 154 properties and 56,000 guestrooms across 34 countries, along with more than 45,000 employees.
AccorHotels projects that the integration of these brands will generate approximately €65 million in synergies through streamlined operations and shared resources. The acquisition also brings a substantial boost to the group’s loyalty program: AccorHotels inherits about 3 million loyalty members from the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel customer bases, a population that is particularly strong in North America. This expanded customer data set is expected to improve personalized marketing and enhance guest experiences across the enlarged portfolio.
The transaction reinforces AccorHotels’ strategy to grow its luxury and lifestyle offerings while leveraging brand recognition and premium assets to capture more high-end travelers. By combining global distribution networks, loyalty benefits and operational expertise, the group aims to create new opportunities for cross-selling, improved revenue management and consistent service standards across its expanded collection of hotels.
For guests and owners, the acquisition promises continued investment in property quality and guest services, supported by AccorHotels’ platform and resources. For employees, it brings the potential for broader career paths within a larger international organization. Overall, the move represents a major consolidation in the luxury hotel market, positioning AccorHotels as a leading global operator of prestigious hotels and resorts.
