Virgin America has partnered with the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Dallas Love Field to present an exhibit that traces the airline’s connection to the airport and celebrates local aviation history.
“Since launching service in the Dallas metro area in 2010, Virgin America has been dedicated to supporting community organizations and educational programs like the Frontiers of Flight Museum’s Flight School,” said Steve Forte, chief operating officer of Virgin America. “This museum preserves and shares a rich aviation heritage.”
As part of the collaboration, Virgin America will fund scholarships for students enrolled in the museum’s Flight School and related educational programs. Those initiatives create a hands-on learning environment for students of all ages, applying STEM principles to aviation and space flight through guided museum tours and classroom instruction. This summer, Virgin America awarded scholarships enabling 50 students to attend the Flight School program.
“We are thrilled to host this meaningful exhibit in our Love Field Gallery,” said Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones, president and CEO of the Frontiers of Flight Museum. “Our partnership with Virgin America plays a key role in fulfilling our mission to inspire students from diverse backgrounds to pursue excellence in science, technology, engineering, and math.”
The exhibit and scholarship support reinforce both organizations’ commitment to education and community engagement, offering local students unique opportunities to explore careers in aviation and aerospace while strengthening ties between the museum and the airport community.
