Wyld Sauna, the United Kingdom’s first public floating sauna, opened in November at Liverpool’s Princes Dock, welcoming local residents and international visitors. This distinctive wellness venue blends the calm traditions of Scandinavian sauna culture with Liverpool’s energetic waterfront, offering an accessible place to relax, socialize and recharge.
Designed to deliver an authentic communal sauna experience, Wyld Sauna Liverpool provides a Finnish-style coal sauna that accommodates up to 30 people. The site couples the warmth of the sauna with direct access to the water for invigorating cold plunges. Facilities include four ice baths, cold waterfall showers and heated outdoor showers with salt scrubs for a full sensory and therapeutic routine.

Amenities support both solo visits and group outings with friends or family. Changing facilities include lockers, mirrors, swimsuit dryers and Dyson hair dryers. The sauna is intended as a social hub, welcoming newcomers and regular sauna-goers alike.
Wyld Sauna schedules sessions to fit into busy local routines — before work, between meetings or after school drop-offs — and is also a convenient stop for visitors exploring Liverpool’s cultural and sporting attractions.
Located on Princes Dock as part of the Liverpool Waters regeneration, Wyld Sauna benefits from a waterfront setting popular with open-water swimmers. The dock holds an “Excellent” water quality rating from the Environment Agency and is maintained with four oxygen pumps; water quality checks are conducted by the port owners every two weeks. The dock’s depth of around 6.5 feet makes for a safe, refreshing plunge, and lifeguards are on site to ensure visitor safety.

Wyld’s team chose Princes Dock for its renewed vibrancy and creative community. To protect the waterfront environment, the venue avoids soaps and other products that could pollute the water. Instead, they provide an eco-friendly Wyld salt scrub that gently cleanses and exfoliates while preserving the dock’s natural condition.
To make the sauna more accessible, Wyld offers discount cards for regulars that can be shared with friends and family. Reservations are available online.
Beyond the new attraction at Princes Dock, Liverpool continues to draw visitors with long-standing cultural highlights. The Beatles Story at Royal Albert Dock hosts an extensive Beatles exhibition with multilingual audio tours, while the Liverpool Beatles Museum displays hundreds of authentic Beatles artifacts.

Liverpool also hosts the largest number of museums and galleries outside London, featuring major institutions such as Walker Art Gallery, World Museum, Museum of Liverpool, Tate Liverpool, the Maritime Museum and Port Sunlight Museum. These venues showcase art, history and maritime heritage across easily accessible sites.
Football is central to the city’s identity. Liverpool FC welcomes visitors to Anfield Stadium on non-match days, offering guided tours of the stadium and museum that provide behind-the-scenes insight into one of the world’s most famous football clubs.
