Luxury Brasserie Opens Inside Paris Train Station: What to Know

Thousands of commuters and visitors pass through Paris’s Gare du Nord every day, and now they have a refined option for a meal before departure. L’Étoile du Nord opened last year inside the station to offer travelers a final taste of French cuisine or a convenient spot for a post-work glass of wine.

The two-story brasserie is the project of local Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx, who wanted to give train passengers an elevated dining experience rather than a packaged meal. To welcome international travelers from neighboring countries, the menu includes familiar choices such as fish and chips and Liège-style waffles alongside classic French dishes.

With seating for about 120 guests, the restaurant serves a fixed-price lunch menu priced at €31. After dining, patrons can continue upstairs to the wine bar to enjoy a glass or two of carefully selected French vintages before catching their train.
