Savor warm summer evenings on The Patio at The Dignitary, located at Marriott Marquis Washington, D.C.
Downtown Washington, D.C.’s newest hotel recently introduced The Patio, a sunlit outdoor sister bar to The Dignitary whiskey lounge. Situated on the corner of 9th Street NW and Massachusetts Ave. NW, adjacent to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, The Patio seats up to 40 guests in a mix of high-top tables, lounge seats and cozy couches. The space pairs a whiskey-forward cocktail menu with light small plates and live music on Thursday and Friday evenings. The Patio opens nightly at 5 p.m. and offers after-work specials until 7 p.m.
The Patio’s drink list highlights distinctive signature cocktails that blend classic technique with bold flavors. Selections include a Whiskey Margarita made with George Nickel White and Cointreau; the Kentucky Devil, a creative mix of bourbon, watermelon and adobo; the No. 10 Rickey, a local riff featuring Tanqueray No. 10 gin, club soda and lime; a Bourbon Pomegranate Sangria; and a refreshing Basil Julep. These options aim to please both whiskey fans and cocktail enthusiasts looking for something new.
Throughout June, The Patio will host live music from local acts, providing a relaxed soundtrack for after-work drinks and weekend evenings. Scheduled performances include:
- Thursday, June 18: Three Man Soul Machine
- Friday, June 19: The Bobby Thomson Project
- Thursday, June 25: Ted Garber
Earlier this year, The Dignitary strengthened its focus on whiskey with a dedicated Bourbon Program. The initiative features themed trivia nights, popular happy hour offerings and a cocktail competition designed to inspire a new signature whiskey creation for the bar.
Whether you’re stopping by after work, meeting friends for a weekend drink, or seeking a comfortable outdoor spot near the convention center, The Patio at The Dignitary offers a welcoming atmosphere, creative cocktails and live music to make summer evenings in D.C. more enjoyable.
