First Street Napa Redevelopment Revitalizes Downtown Napa

A recently introduced landmark has helped continue the revitalization of downtown Napa, making the area more appealing to both visitors and residents.

First Street Napa is a large mixed-use development at the heart of downtown Napa. What once felt like a quick gas-station stop has become a true destination for shopping, dining and wine tasting, drawing more people into the city center.

The development includes upscale and distinctive places to stay, such as Archer Hotel Napa, alongside diverse dining options like Charlie Palmer Steak and Eiko’s Modern Japanese Cuisine.

Archer Hotel Napa offers 143 guestrooms, 40 suites and a full-service spa. Guests can enjoy drinks and small plates without leaving the property at the Sky and Vine Rooftop Bar, which features fire pits and panoramic views of Napa Valley.

First Street Napa currently hosts 17 shops and restaurants, and the project remains under development. When complete, the site will span three city blocks and feature more than 40 retail and dining venues, expanding the neighborhood’s offerings and walkability.

The first phase of the First Street Napa project was completed in 2017, a milestone that followed more than $200 million in investment to transform the downtown core. The development has contributed to Napa’s broader appeal as a destination; for context, Visit Napa Valley reported that 3.5 million travelers visited the valley in 2016.
