Hawaii Prince Golf Course Reopens After $915K Renovation at Prince Waikiki

Hawaii Prince Golf Course recently revealed the results of a $915,000 renovation, celebrated with a blessing led by Kahu Kordell Kekoa. The project refreshed the clubhouse public spaces, including the Pro Shop and the Bird of Paradise restaurant, unifying design elements from the resort to create an inviting experience for golfers and guests.

The Pro Shop received a complete makeover that mirrors the open concepts and color palette of its sister hotel, Prince Waikiki, while adopting slightly darker woods and richer flooring tones for a more grounded, refined feel. New flooring patterns reference local Pacific graphics and tattoo motifs, tying the interior to island culture. Visitors will also find branded retail merchandise available for purchase, making it easy to take home a reminder of the day on the links.

Bird of Paradise Restaurant was updated to align visually with the Pro Shop and to provide a cohesive aesthetic throughout the golf course facilities. The restaurant now features warm, rich tones balanced by neutral woven carpeting and upholstery that incorporates blue hues reminiscent of Prince Waikiki. Dark wood accents run throughout the space, creating a comfortable, elegant atmosphere.

In addition to aesthetic improvements, the restaurant’s bar was fully redesigned. Enhancements include a new gantry-style rack system, updated countertops, an expanded snack bar, and light wooden paneling for the bar well—details that improve both functionality and visual appeal for guests enjoying a meal or refreshments before or after play.

Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, Hawaii Prince Golf Course is the only 27-hole course on Oahu and offers three interchangeable nine-hole loops. The recent updates strengthen the property’s connection to the resort aesthetic while enhancing the guest experience—from shopping for branded apparel to dining in a refreshed, cohesive environment—making it an appealing destination for both local players and visitors to the island.
