The luxury seasonal Dunton River Camp at Crestor Ranch reopens for its third season on June 1, offering guests outstanding fly-fishing and summer experiences in the Colorado Rockies.
Set on an alpine clearing in the San Juan Mountains, the sister property of Dunton Hot Springs features eight spacious 640-square-foot canvas tents on elevated platforms. Each tent includes a gas heating stove, a generous en-suite bathroom with double vanities, and a private lounging porch. Mountain bikes are provided for guests’ complimentary use, making it easy to explore the surrounding terrain.
At the center of the intimate resort stands a restored 19th-century farmhouse that serves as the main lodge. The Farmhouse offers a dining room, salon, and a wraparound deck that overlooks the Dolores River from a height of about 20 feet. Chefs prepare a changing daily menu that highlights local and regional ingredients, complemented by award-winning wines from nearby Sutcliffe Vineyards, located roughly 30 miles away.
Guests at the camp can choose from a wide range of outdoor activities across the wilderness, including guided fly-fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. New amenities include a custom-designed Surf Sauna on the banks of the Dolores River, and visitors also have access to Dunton Hot Springs’ original Bath House, outdoor springs, and saloon-style restaurant for added relaxation and dining options.
The season runs through Oct. 31. Rates begin at $1,400 per night and include all meals and beverages, providing an all-inclusive experience for those seeking a refined outdoor getaway in the Colorado high country.
