Airport and city-center hotel chain Yotel has announced plans to open a 451-room hotel at the soon-to-open Istanbul New Airport.
The hotel will be divided into landside and airside sections, with 349 rooms on the landside and 102 rooms airside. Both sections will feature Yotel’s Club Lounge concept, which includes smart vending, co-working and relaxation areas, wellness facilities, and planted glazed atriums designed to bring guests closer to nature. The landside section will also include a restaurant, a bar, a gym and flexible meeting spaces to accommodate business and leisure travelers.
Istanbul New Airport is scheduled to open on Oct. 29. Yotel has not yet confirmed an official opening date for the new property.
The Yotel brand began as an airport-focused concept in 2007 with its first location at Gatwick (LGW) and has since expanded to include urban hotels in addition to airport properties.
“We’ve witnessed Turkey’s, and particularly Istanbul’s, remarkable economic and urban development and its noticeably increased popularity over the past few years. Istanbul New Airport will only further boost the city’s growth and its economy, and Yotel is delighted to be part of that,” said Yotel CEO Hubert Viriot. “The airport’s ambitious vision to become the largest transit hub in the world made it especially attractive for us, and we are honored to be chosen for this project. Istanbul’s high-growth ambitions align closely with Yotel’s own objectives, so this is an ideal fit.”
