Recently acquired by Carey Watermark Investors and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, the former Bacara Resort & Spa reopens after a multimillion-dollar renovation as The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. The property debuts with 358 refreshed guestrooms and suites and six distinct dining venues.
Set on 78 acres along the California coastline, the resort features direct beach access, three saltwater pools, a luxury spa with 36 treatment rooms, a fitness center and salon, and expanded event space. Its coastal location also makes it an ideal base for exploring nearby vineyards and the wider Santa Barbara wine region.

He added that the acquisition strengthens Carey Watermark’s partnership with The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott International and supports the resort’s role within the local community.
Planned improvements will continue to elevate the guest experience, with additional upgrades to guest rooms, the main lobby and public areas. A dedicated Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge is also planned, promising personalized services, enhanced amenities, dedicated concierge support and daily culinary presentations for Club guests.
