United Airlines announced new international routes that began in 2019, expanding its transatlantic network and adding direct connections from key U.S. gateways to Europe.
Starting March 30, United became the only U.S. carrier offering non-stop service between San Francisco (SFO) and Amsterdam (AMS). This route marked the airline’s fifth nonstop link to the Netherlands. The flight departs San Francisco daily at 2:55 p.m. and arrives in Amsterdam at 10:20 a.m. the next day. The return service leaves Amsterdam at 2:50 p.m., arriving back in San Francisco at 4:50 p.m.
On May 22, United launched seasonal nonstop service between Newark (EWR) and Naples, Italy (NAP), making it the only carrier flying nonstop between the United States and Naples. Operating through October 4, these daily flights depart Newark at 5:25 p.m. and arrive in Naples at 8:05 a.m. the following day. Return flights depart Naples at 10:10 a.m., arriving in the U.S. at 2:05 p.m.
Additional seasonal service began on June 6, with daily nonstop flights between Newark and Prague (PRG) operating through October 4. Flights leave Newark at 6:05 p.m. and arrive in Prague at 8:25 a.m. the next morning. The Prague-to-Newark return departs at 10:10 a.m., arriving in Newark at 1:30 p.m.
These additions strengthen United’s transatlantic footprint, offering travelers more nonstop options for both business and leisure travel. By launching routes from both the West and East coasts, United enhanced connectivity to important European destinations and provided convenient schedules for round-trip travelers.
“We’ve built an unparalleled global network and we continuously look for opportunities to make United the first choice for travelers booking flights to Europe and beyond,” said Patrick Quayle, vice president of international network at United Airlines. “Whether customers are traveling for business or leisure, United offers more choice than ever before to connect to the places, people and moments that matter most.”
