Your Business
What innovations/initiatives do you foresee in the industry over the next years? The cruise industry continues to evolve as new destinations and guest interests emerge. In recent years multigenerational and experiential cruising have become strong trends, and I expect those to persist. Small luxury ships are gaining traction because travelers appreciate individualized experiences, attentive service and access to unique ports that larger vessels cannot reach. Operators who emphasize authentic local experiences, environmental stewardship and personalized service will stand out.
What is the best career advice you’ve received? It’s all about the people and relationships. Every success depends on understanding and serving our guests and cultivating strong partnerships across the industry.
What advice would you give someone starting out in the field? Travel widely and see destinations firsthand. Direct experience is invaluable when you design and sell travel. We encourage our staff to sail on the m/s Paul Gauguin to discover the islands of French Polynesia for themselves.
Diane Moore as a Traveler
Favorite travel memory or story: My mother would often hop on a plane at a moment’s notice to meet me in London or New York. After my son was born, she delighted in showing him the world. Those shared moments exploring people and places together are some of my most treasured memories.
One travel tip you cannot live without: Pack the essentials you’ll need immediately in your carry-on. It saves time and stress if your checked luggage is delayed.
Best advice for business travelers: When work allows, set aside time to enjoy the destination even if it’s only an afternoon. Small moments of exploration make business trips more rewarding.
