The expeditions take place aboard the new Ocean Victory, a vessel outfitted for Arctic and coastal exploration with a dedicated expedition team and specialist staff. Guests can expect close encounters with Alaskan wildlife and guided shore excursions designed to educate and engage. Highlights include whale-tracking excursions focused on communication and behavior led by acoustic ecologist Dr. Michelle Fournet, an expert on North Pacific humpback whale soundscapes. Guests may also paddle double sea kayaks under the supervision of the shore excursion team to experience the region’s icy waters at water level.
Onboard programming and shore-based visits emphasize local culture and natural history. The itineraries feature stops in the coastal community of Petersburg, naturalist-led cruises through Frederick Sound, and a visit to a Tlingit Tribal House to learn about Indigenous culture and traditions. River exploration includes journeys up the Stikine River, offering chances to observe remote ecosystems and wildlife. Culinary experiences highlight regional ingredients and traditions; Chef Regina Charboneau will sail on the Ocean Victory’s maiden Alaska voyage to present cooking demonstrations and talks focused on Alaska’s foodways.

The Alaska Insider is a 13-day journey that sails from Sitka, Alaska, to Vancouver, Washington. The Authentic Alaska itinerary is a 12-day voyage in the opposite direction, departing Vancouver and concluding in Sitka. Ocean Victory accommodates up to 186 guests, allowing for a smaller, expedition-style experience. Sailings for the inaugural season operate between May and September, timed to maximize wildlife sightings and favorable weather for exploration and shore visits.
