5 Airlines Recently Added to TSA PreCheck — Who Joined?

Frequent travelers have long relied on TSA PreCheck to move through security faster and spend less time in lines and more time relaxing before flights. Until recently, though, not every carrier participated in the expedited screening program.

In late October, five additional airlines joined TSA PreCheck, bringing the total number of participating domestic and international carriers to 42. This expansion gives more travelers access to faster airport processing and a more consistent security experience.

The newest members of the program are Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Korean Air, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and charter services operated by Contour Aviation. Travelers flying on these airlines who qualify for PreCheck will now be able to use dedicated lanes at participating U.S. airports.

Airlines must meet TSA security requirements before they can participate, including updating reservation systems to comply with Secure Flight pre-screening standards. These technical and procedural upgrades ensure passenger information is transmitted properly so eligible travelers receive PreCheck status when they check in.

Qualified passengers can enroll in TSA PreCheck for a five-year membership that currently costs $85. Once approved, members can use PreCheck lanes at more than 180 U.S. airports, enjoy simplified screening procedures such as keeping shoes and light jackets on and leaving laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags, and generally experience shorter wait times through security.

The recent additions further expand the reach of TSA PreCheck for both domestic and international itineraries, making it easier for more flyers to streamline their airport experience. As airlines continue to adopt the program, travelers should check their boarding pass or airline confirmation to confirm PreCheck eligibility for each flight.
