Zipcar, Inc., a leading car-sharing network, has expanded its airport presence to Logan International Airport (BOS).
This expansion follows Zipcar’s recent launch at London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Zipcar members—often called Zipsters—now have access to more than 10,000 vehicles across airport and city locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria.
“What better way to open our new rental car center than to welcome Zipcar, which started 13 years ago in Massachusetts,” said Ed Freni, director of aviation at Massport.
Five Zipcars, including a Mazda 3, a Ford Escape and a Honda Civic, are parked in Zipcar-branded spaces adjacent to the Avis Car Rental pick-up area at the airport. Members can collect a vehicle immediately after exiting the terminal with no paperwork, no lines and no additional fees.
Zipcar members aged 21 and older may reserve vehicles at airport locations. Reservations include fuel, insurance and up to 180 miles per day. Rates at Logan International Airport start at $10 per hour or $75 per day. All rentals require pick-up and return at the same location.
