Brazil has introduced a new visa waiver policy for travelers from the United States and several other countries, a change that has already driven a notable rise in international arrivals. Travel data show a strong uptick from key markets. U.S. travelers booked 53% more trips to Brazil in June and 97% more trips in July compared with the same months last year. From Canada, bookings increased 86% in June, 54% in July and 135% in August. These gains reflect growing interest in Brazil’s culture, landscapes and urban attractions following the easing of visa requirements.
“The numbers show that visa exemptions for strategic countries are a good measure, which generates jobs and income in Brazil. It is time for the country to take advantage of all its tourism potential,” said Marcelo Alvaro Antonio, Brazil’s minister of tourism.
Brazil offers a wide variety of destinations for different kinds of travelers.
