United Airlines was honored with a diversity award from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC), earning a “Best-of-the-Best” designation for its inclusive practices.
The recognition highlights United’s strong performance across multiple diversity segments and its efforts to create a more equitable future for employees, customers and communities.
“Connecting people and cultures across the globe is at the heart of who we are at United Airlines,” said Patrick Quayle, vice president of international network at United Airlines.
“We appreciate NGLCC and NBIC for partnering with us to advance inclusion and help unite the world,” he added.
The award reflects United’s comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy, which emphasizes partnerships and advocacy for the LGBTQ community, people of color, women, veterans and individuals with disabilities. United’s approach focuses on building and sustaining an inclusive workforce while working with organizations that support diverse suppliers and communities.
Key elements of United’s initiatives include clear anti-discrimination policies, employee training programs that prioritize inclusion, and active Business Resource Groups operating across the United States and internationally. These efforts support career development, mentoring and a workplace culture where employees from varied backgrounds can thrive.
United also invests in outreach and pipeline programs to encourage the next generation of talent. For example, the airline organizes Girls in Aviation Day events at multiple locations across its network to introduce young people to careers in aviation and to broaden participation in the industry.
By combining policy, training, employee networks and community engagement, United aims to foster a workplace and industry that value diversity and equal opportunity. The “Best-of-the-Best” award from NGLCC and NBIC acknowledges those sustained commitments and the company’s measurable progress in inclusion.
United’s leadership says the company will continue expanding initiatives that support underrepresented groups, promote equitable business practices and strengthen partnerships that drive long-term, positive change across the aviation sector and beyond.
