At the end of its first year, Tribute Portfolio has grown to include 20 properties worldwide—twice the number originally projected. Starwood’s collection of independent hotels recently added three new properties, including the brand’s first in Shanghai and two in Florida: a 323-room hotel in Tampa and The Modern in Sarasota.
“The independent hotel segment has continued to grow rapidly, as more travelers seek hotels and resorts that offer character rather than a cookie-cutter experience. That demand, combined with strong support from our owners and developers, has driven the brand’s rapid expansion and success as we enter year two,” said Dave Marr, global brand leader for Tribute Portfolio.
Tribute Portfolio opened its first property, the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, in April 2015. The collection now includes a diverse mix of hotels such as the Great Northern Hotel, The Kiroro Resort, The Hermitage, SLS Las Vegas, The Riviera Palm Springs, Avenue of the Arts, Le Dokhan’s, and Le Metropolitan. New openings are planned for Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Sarasota, Asheville, Nashville, Savannah, Charleston, Denver, Shanghai and Quebec City.
