British Airways has unveiled its new business-class seat, scheduled to debut in July on the airline’s new Airbus A350 aircraft.
The upgraded business-class offering, called the Club Suite, provides passengers with direct aisle access, private suite doors and fully flat beds arranged in a 1-2-1 layout. The design increases storage space by 40 percent and includes mirrors, onboard Wi‑Fi, 18.5‑inch entertainment screens and USB charging ports for personal devices.
The A350 cabin will carry 56 Club Suites, 56 premium-economy seats and 219 economy seats. All passengers will benefit from high-speed Wi‑Fi, a cabin with higher ceilings, ambient lighting and reduced interior noise. Initially the aircraft will serve short-haul routes between London Heathrow (LHR) and Madrid (MAD), with long-haul deployments planned after October.
Alex Cruz, chairman and CEO of British Airways, described the A350 and Club Suite introduction as a highlight of the airline’s £6.5 billion investment program. He noted that each suite offers direct aisle access and an individual door—features developed in response to customer feedback. Cruz also pointed to broader improvements across the Club World experience, including refreshed airport lounges, new gourmet menus from Do&Co on departures from Heathrow, and upgraded bedding from The White Company, all aimed at delivering the British style and quality customers expect.
The Club Suite’s 1-2-1 configuration ensures every business-class traveler has immediate aisle access, enhancing privacy and convenience. The added storage and personal amenities are designed for both short and long flights, with entertainment and connectivity features that support work and relaxation in flight. By combining improved ergonomics, quieter cabins and modern lighting, British Airways aims to elevate comfort throughout the journey.
British Airways’ phased rollout begins with short-haul operations this summer to familiarize crews and passengers with the new cabin layout and onboard services. With the transition to long-haul routes later in the year, travelers can expect the full complement of Club Suites on selected intercontinental flights.
Overall, the A350 and its Club Suite cabins represent a significant update to British Airways’ premium offering, aligning cabin technology and passenger comfort with contemporary expectations while preserving the carrier’s emphasis on service and British design influences.
