Arrival/Check-in: I arrived at the newly renovated property late in the day. Although the driveway was busy, parking and front-door staff kept everything running smoothly. A bellhop took my luggage as I approached the front desk, where the clerk welcomed me and confirmed I had been assigned a freshly updated junior suite. My room was located on the same floor as the Peninsula Spa, which features a discreet entrance to the rooftop bar and restaurant—very convenient for meeting guests. (29/30)
Guest Quarters: The suite was very comfortable, beginning with a long hallway that led past a dressing area and closet on the right and a large bathroom on the left. The bathroom required minimal change in the renovation: the warm pinkish marble and natural materials remain in excellent condition. It included a generous soaking tub and a roomy shower stall, double sinks, and high-quality amenities such as Davi body lotion and shampoo. The Peninsula also offers an extensive selection of personal-care items, and staff are happy to provide anything else a guest may need.
The bedroom featured a king-size bed and a personalized pillowcase embroidered with “FG,” a thoughtful detail. As part of the renovation, the rooms received fresh paint, new wallpaper, and updated fabrics. Furniture and rugs were replaced to align with the Peninsula’s signature style and guest expectations. A comfortable desk with all the essentials was positioned to the right, where I worked during my stay and handled a great deal of business. Near the window, a small sofa and coffee table provided a relaxing spot for reading or watching the flat-screen TV. (29/30)
Services/Amenities: The Peninsula distinguishes itself through attentive service and a wide range of amenities. During my visit I dined at the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Belvedere, enjoyed an evening on The Roof Garden, and spent time at The Club Bar. The cuisine at each venue was excellent, but it was the staff who elevated the experience—courteous, professional, and attentive. At The Belvedere, the team was especially polished while I hosted several Global Traveler VIPs. The Roof Garden offered a more casual setting where I had a delightful dinner with a friend; the pool area is ideal for relaxation or private events. The Club Bar remains a Beverly Hills institution, and the familiar, warm service made me feel welcome on multiple nights.
Housekeeping maintained the suite to a high standard, pressing clothing when requested and ensuring other needs were promptly met. A fresh fruit plate was waiting upon arrival, and the staff consistently anticipated guests’ preferences and replenished favorites. (39/40)
The Experience: In my view, there is no better hotel in the area. Despite numerous updates and additions across Los Angeles’ five-star properties, the Peninsula remains a steady standout, delivering reliable luxury and exceptional service.
