Missing workouts and long flights left you out of your usual fitness routine? Here’s some delicious motivation to get you back on track: a challenging run that ends with hot chocolate and chocolate treats. Known as “America’s Sweetest Race,” the Hot Chocolate 15/5K debuted in Chicago in 2008 and is produced by RAM Racing. Each event finishes with a lively post-race celebration, live music, and mugs of hot chocolate along with chocolate fondue for finishers.
Participants also receive a chocolate-themed goodie bag to sweeten the effort. Lace up your shoes — the race visits multiple cities: Chicago (Nov. 9), Columbus (Nov. 16), Phoenix (Dec. 7), and St. Louis (Dec. 14). Additional 2015 dates include San Francisco (Jan. 11), Atlanta (Jan. 25), Dallas (Feb. 7), Nashville (Feb. 14), Seattle (March 1), San Diego (March 22), Philadelphia (April 4), and Minneapolis (April 18).
Beyond the treats and festivities, the event supports a meaningful cause: proceeds help families and children facing serious medical crises by providing lodging near hospitals, easing some of the burdens that come with medical care away from home.
